Exercise Can Help To Control Stress:
One way to avoid excess acid in the body is to control negative emotions like angry, frustration, resentment...and, the biggie, STRESS. Stress can have a detrimental effect on our bodies. Stress management doctors have often prescribed a healthy amount of exercise to combat stress related physical and emotional illnesses.

People who exercise regularly will tell you they feel better. Some will say it's because chemicals called neurotransmitters, produced in the brain, are stimulated during exercise.

Since it's believed that neurotransmitters mediate our moods and emotions, they can make us feel better and less stressed. While there's no scientific evidence to conclusively support the neurotransmitter theory, there is plenty to show that exercise provides stress-relieving benefits.

FOUR WAYS EXERCISE CONTROLS STRESS:
Exercise can help you feel less anxious
Exercise is being prescribed in clinical settings to help treat nervous tension. Following a session of exercise, clinicians have measured a decrease in electrical activity of tensed muscles. People have been less jittery and hyperactive after an exercise session.

Exercise can relax you
One exercise session generates 90 to 120 minutes of relaxation response. Some people call this post-exercise euphoria or endorphin response. We now know that many neurotransmitters, not just endorphins, are involved. The important thing though is not what they're called, but what they do: They improve your mood and leave you relaxed.

Exercise can make you feel better about yourself
Think about those times when you've been physically active. Haven't you felt better about yourself? That feeling of self-worth contributes to stress relief.

Exercise can make you eat better
People who exercise regularly tend to eat more nutritious food. And it's no secret that good nutrition helps your body manage stress better.

There are so many advantages you gain from exercising:
* It's fun (It is really!!)
* Increases your energy levels
* Burns body fat
* Reduces insulin output (the hormone that makes you store fat and crave carbohydrates)
* Increases lean muscle
* Reduces stress
* Reduces the risk of many serious diseases (cancer, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes)
* Increases sense of well being
* Your resting heart rate will decrease and more blood will circulate to the heart muscle
* Fat is burned from all body stores. Not only the fat we see in the mirror but the dangerous fat that accumulates around our internal organs such as heart and liver

It is recommended that everyone gets a total of at LEAST 30 min of exercise THREE times per week. For those trying to lose weight or who suffer from weight problems, I would suggest working out FIVE times a week (if your schedule lets you) for at LEAST 30 min and anywhere up to an hour and 1/2.

To get better results, combine a good fitness program (weights & cardio) with a well-balanced diet. Make sure you are also getting your 8-12 glasses of water each day to keep your body hydrated.
